February Round Robin at Scraps of Elegance and Scraps of Darkness

Hey there!  I think I might be getting the hang of this blog idea!!!!  I want to share a layout with you that I created for our February Round Robin challenge.  I am hosting it this month and there is a $10 gift certificate to our amazing SOE/SOD Store.  You don't have to be a kit or club member play. I really hope that you will consider joining us.  It's such a blast!!

So, here is my lo for Team #1

The photo is of my youngest grandson, Cameron, age 2 1/2 years old.  We were at the Alaska State Fair, and I taught him how to jump in puddles.  His Momma was so mad at me!  I just laughed and thought....pay back!!  Heheheheh....it's good to be Grandma!!

Gotta say this is one of my favorite los!!  I stamped, misted, stenciled, inked the background first.  Then I cut a big piece of twine and just dropped it on the page to form the circles you see in the background.  The rest was all fun and games adding the embellishments.  I've been dying to use the Tim Holtz View Finder Die Cut, but just haven't had the right lo for it!!  The little piece of black and white swirls at the bottom left is actually cut from a package that my sweet friend, Renea Harrison uses when she packages her butterflies which she sells on Etsy at Reneasbouquets!!!!

I did a lot of work on the photo.  I'm not a Photoshop pro, but am trying to learn.  I really like the way this one turned out!

I really hope you enjoyed stopping by today.  Here's a Big Alaska Bear Hug coming your way......

Scraps of Elegance January Kit

This is the last layout I'm sharing today.  I am a Design Tech for the amazing Scraps of Elegance Scrapbook Kit Club.  I feel so honored every time I share that!!!

This photo is of my precious grandsons, Chase and Cameron playing at the Talkeetna River.  I think is it so special.  My daughter took it with her IPhone.  Amazing little gadgets those phones....

I did a lot of distressing, painting, masking, and stenciling.  The phone mat was folded up like a fan and then released.  I really like the effect.  I added fish netting, shells, and glass droplets.  It wasn't an easy one for me to do.  For some reason my Mojo has flown out the window this month LOLO!!!

I hope that you are able to create something beautiful this week.  I'm sending you Big Alaska Bear Hugs!!!

I LOVE WINTER!!!

It's true, I live in Alaska because I can't tolerate the heat (and I'm from Texas originally!) I also collect snowflakes, but found that less is more on the next layout.  I used this amazing die from Anna Griffin, that I adore!

This is a photo of my family taken in 1995.  Patrick was on his way to college and Jenny was about ready to graduate from High School and on her way to the Seattle Art Institute.  I wanted to capture everyone before they scattered to the wind.  Alas, I am so lucky, they landed right back here in Anchorage.  What a joy to have your family so close by!

Once again, the lighting is horrible.  I'm still learning the in's and out's of Photoshop and other gadgets so that my photos will look better.

Talk to you real soon!!!

I have another layout that I created this month that I want to share with you.  It's a photo of Cameron, my DGS and his little cousin Willo.  I just couldn't resist scrapping these little angels!

I'm sorry that the lighting is not up to par, it's that time of the year in Alaska....very little daylight or sunshine I should say!!!

Thanks for visiting me today, hope you come back!

One More Time!

I did it!!!!! This is a layout of my daughter, Jennifer and my second grandson, Cameron. They are in a boat going very fast down the Descha River. I just adore this photo, but was not happy to see that Cam wasn't wearing any shoes. It's the grandma coming out in me!! I didn't do much different to this layout, but I did find some cork that I used for the mat for the photo. It's very cool stuff!! I was even able to punch the corners. I also used some red burlap with gold threads in bits and pieces. I did try something new!! I made a twine flower that is behind the white gardenia in the top left hand corner. That was fun and something I've wanted to do for some time. Hope you enjoyed the lo and thank you so much for your visit! Until next time......

Post Holiday

I can't believe that the Holidays have come and gone, and I didn't share any of it with you my dear friends! My only excuse is that I was trying to keep up with everything and still recover from the surgery. I want to wish everyone a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!! And here's a few los that I have been working on with the January Scraps of Elegance Kit!
